India is on a solid growth pathway to complete decarbonization by 2070. The electrification of public transport is a pivotal component of this journey. With a plan to deploy 50,000 electric-buses by 2030, Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) is privileged to be a part of this ambitious roadmap undertaken by Government of India to combat climate change.
Financing continues to be a major impediment in the accelerated electrification of public transport in India.
The process of procurement, deployment and operation continues to be vulnerable to an array of financial risks – thwarting the pace of bus fleet electrification. With this context, CESL is organizing an international conference INSIGHT 2022, a two-day in-person event aimed at exploring accessible financing pathways to catalyze the electrification of public mobility in India.
The conference will explore innovative solutions to finance India’s ambitious green transportation goals. We are privileged and honoured to receive the support and guidance of multiple Ministries – reflective of the true collaboration needed to fulfil our ambitious targets for green and inclusive economic development.
INSIGHT 2022 is being organised in partnership with World Resources Institute India (WRI India), supported by Shakti Foundation. We are also privileged to receive the support and patronage of Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Ministry of Heavy Industries, Ministry of Power & The World Bank Group amongst others, for this conference.
